What is Model Mississippi?

Model Mississippi tackles how Mississippi is represented in the National Statuary Hall Collection at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. The National Statuary Hall Collection is a chamber in the United States Capitol comprised of statues donated by individual states to honor deceased people notable in that state's history that is seen by people from across the world.

Currently, Mississippi is represented by two statues depicting Former President of the Confederate States of America Jefferson Davis and Confederate Colonel James Zachariah George making Mississippi one of two U.S. states with two Confederate statues in National Statuary Hall.

In 2020, there is more to tell the world about Mississippi.
